Have you ever died, then changed your mind? Me neither. But weird things can happen in Sunnydale Detroit.
A young woman who was declared dead at her suburban Detroit home opened her eyes at a funeral home as she was about to be embalmed, a lawyer has said.
EMTs had tried to revive her at home for 30 minutes. A doctor declared her dead, on the EMTs report. She went to the funeral home in a body bag.
An hour later, they unzipped the bag - and noticed her eyes were open. Close attention revealed she was breathing. They called emergency medical, and she's now in critical condition in a hospital. In hindsight, those EMTs were excellent at their jobs.
ps - there was no mention of neck trauma. In case you were wondering.

No. But I did die and was sent back from the light. Very disappointing.

I heard they were about to embalm her.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Update - two EMTs (of the 4 present) have been suspended.
A suburban Detroit paramedic repeatedly failed to recognize that a young woman declared dead was alive and misled a doctor by phone about her condition, according to state authorities who offered more details about the strange case.
I'd like to offer commentary, but this one is really weird. Victim remains in hospital, in critical condition. The family lawyer says that only her brain stem is functioning, but we also know she had developmental problems before. So I'd rather hear an update from a doctor.
