Just received my 2.8GHz 24" iMac. It was supposed to arrive tomorrow and I was wishing it would come today as I'm off today. Wouldn't you know it the door bell rings a few minutes ago and it's FedEx, Surprise!
Up and running in 5 minutes. Only 5 software updates to download & install.

Nice, congradulations!

I was just at the Apple store yesterday and used the stock 2.4 GHz 24" and they flew in comparison to the MacBook's!

Thanks! One thing I've observed so far, this iMac is extremely quiet, much quieter than my 17" iMac G5.

That's good to hear (no pun intended), as my first generation 17" iMac G5 whirred quite annoyingly, seemingly at idle. Often the fans even distracted those on the other end of my (external, obviously) iSight.

Planning to post any pics in the setup thread?

Spectacular, as long as you ignore the glare increasing glossy screen, subpar graphics card, ugly black border, lack of video input, etc. I feel sorry for you.

Very cool.
Would it be possible if you could do some benchmarks like how AppleInsider did them? I can't find any benchmarks of the 2.8 against the 2.4.

The 2.8 has 4 cores correct?

Now, more than ever before, it's a terrible burden to own a brand new iMac. But we all have our demons.
