3 $20 bills
1 $10 bill
$0.34 in change

Total: $70.34

Lately, I've been carrying between $50 and $100, though I'm trying to get away from this and go strictly plastic. I do have a friend who carries ~$500 at all times. Why? "In case of an emergency," he says.

EDIT: fixed my cents

Had 4 $5 bills, and $3.07 in change.

$1 is in my pocket to go get a drink, $7 went for a pizza we ordered, and I'm sure the rest of the bills will go to another because a bunch of us are still hungry.

That's ridiculous, I can't think of a single situation I've ever been in that needed that much cash on hand at one time. I generally get out $100 at a time from the bank machine and when it gets around $20 or less I'll grab another hundred.

Having $500 in hundred dollar bills certainly doesn't take up a lot of space, but try using them anywhere!

Not that I counted. I personally don't like to carry too much money on me. I use my rewards card for most other things. The $$ comes in hand only at Bars and when out with chicks. In my experience, it helps to have mucho green when around girls , one way or another, it goes so fast.

Nothing, nada, zip.

It's been several days (although more probably weeks) since I last saw paper money, it's getting very rare up here since most transactions are electronic.

I was quite shocked when I went to Europe last summer and discovered businesses that didn't accept debit/credit cards.

Haha! Yeah, all hail the Kalmar Union - Skne, Halland and Blekinge back to Denmark, and we give off Bornholm to the highest bidder!

Actually, I've heard lots of complaints from Swedish and Norwegian people because of the Dankort system here, which is accepted almost everywhere, but which also means that foreign credit/debit cards (like Visa or American Express) are not accepted very many places, because everybody here has a Dankort. Perfect - if you've got a Danish bank account and Dankort.

Hmmmmmm; Wife here, so - Loaded; and I earned it
all waiting tables and bartending...obviously haven't been
to the bank lately. And am saving all my $1's this week
for some new software (maybe Tiger, after tomorrow -
if the Rumour mill is correct.)

Hubby, on the other hand, is most likely broke; or at
least has enough for cocktails after work....
he may even run a tab at the bar if he's totally broke.

I always give the bill to male diners when I work; they almost
always hand it immediately to their wives. Except for the over
50 crowd; the older men almost always pay.
On Fathers Day, I give it to the ladies.

Why? Anything that costs that much, you can generally buy with a credit card. In my (unfortunate) experience, carrying around large lumps of cash is just an easy excuse to lose said lumps, whether by theft or a hole in your pocket.

Same here. My dad taught me to be that way.

I comes in handy if I am driving along and see a trailer or car way underpriced. I buy it and turn around and put it up for sale for a few hundred dollars more. Great way to make more money.

Currently: US$640.35

I keep 6 $100's at all times.

The $40 is for ales tonight after work

The $0.35 is change from a can of pop I bought driving to work today.

$1 USD

I was in Mexico a couple weeks ago and didn't change back all my money. I don't know how that dollar got in there. I'm usually all debit though.

And heaven forbid they have to manually enter the numbers because either your card is scratched/demagnetized or their reader is bad.

Earlier last year we went out to eat and in the city we went to the phones were down so they couldn't even accept plastic.

Cash is the only way to go.
