Anandtech has an early test of the upcoming Ivy Bridge CPU.The test itself is on a desktop chip, but it's much more relevant for laptops, so I'm posting it here. CPU performance is up marginally, but GPU is up 20-40% with occasional tests as high as 50%. Still doesn't match Llano (much less a real discrete GPU), on anything real world, but it's a step forward.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.
