I received 12 discs last month. I'm almost 15 years old. Assuming I live to be 80 and assuming my rate of receiving AOL discs continues, I will accumulate 9,360 discs in the remainder of my life. Now, in order for me to be online for the rest of my life, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, I will need 570 discs, or 569,400 hours. So, when I die, my estate will have 8,790 discs remaining. This would enable me to maintain my "eternal Internet connection" on AOL for the following 1,047 years.

Huh!
I had one curtain that i decorated with 50 cds.. it was too boring. I wanted to decorate the toilet as well with cd mosaics, but.. before i have a bathroom of my own i think there is no way of doing that... maybe a carneval dress made of cds next year?? hmm...
I use the M$ office 2000 - cds as cupholders... so my table will not get dirty..

a bit odd isn't it, that aol has a "no spam" policy (like most isp's) yet they continue to bulk mail all those cd's every few weeks.

Unless you live in Europe, there is no law against cyber junk mail (AKA spam)... And there is no way to enforce that, since most spammers don't spam in their country. Most comes from Asia (if you use spamcop on Spam you see that very evidently) and North America. Europian law is for Europe. So enforcement will take years if it ever happens.
A proposed bill is not a LAW
This has been discussed here about a million times now.

The difference is that it costs them money to send out CD-ROMs to potential customers and it costs you money to receive spam.
Besides, not too many people care about physical direct mail. It's the e-direct mail that drives people crazy.
