Does Safari have a way (or through a plugin) to make large images fit to screen?

IE has this as a feature on the PC, and is one of those things I miss when I am on my Mac. Basically what it does is if an image is too large to fit in the browser window, it will automatically reize, and if you click the image (usually the bottom right corner) it will then go full size.

There's no way to do that as far as I know. I miss that feature too. When I really need it (lots of HR images) I just use Firefox instead.

The 'fit-to-screen' feature exists...but it costs $1799.

And what if you want to view images larger than 2560x1600? Seems a pretty good waste of $1799!

Back on-topic; Apple can be quite slow to integrate features that should really be the norm at times, so I guess we won't see it until Leopard.

And so will Camino.

PicLens: Discover More

Piclens does it for certain sites (Google image search for example), but not generally.

I've tried Piclens in the past (a few weeks ago)... if there was a way to make it do what it does, within a browser window, I'd reinstall it. The fact that it takes over my window takes away from my experience.

FF is an option, but I like the look of Safari over FF (I know I can change FF's look, I just don't want to bother with looking for a theme I like).

I hope Leopard introduces it, I like a lot of the new features in Safari 3, hopefully when its out of Beta the resizing image feature is in there... if not... I guess we can hope to see it in Safari 9.

SafariStand does this if you are talking about standalone pictures (http://....jpg). It’s free and has other useful features.

I think mpancha is using the Safari 3 beta. The image scaling feature was disabled in SafariStand to ensure complete compatibility.

Oh well ... either pre-release software meant for evaluation and development purposes only or image scaling. I took my pick.

Dunno...I don't think there's any pr0n sites that offer photos bigger than that. That *is* what we're talking about right? Is there another type of website that show large images?

Moonray >> I would go back to Safari2, but I like the tab arrangement features Safari3 added (re-ordering tabs, and dragging tabs out into new windows).

Horsepoo!!! >> the occasional non-pr0n site that just has large photos, there's surprisingly more of those than you'd imagine with all the web 2.0 auto-sizing goodness we've got going now.... and of course pr0n.
