What are my video options for my new DC 2.0GHZ PowerMac? I bought it with the 6600LE 128mb memory. What other options do I have? I guess since it's PCI-Express I'm sure whats available for the mac.

6600 256MB, 7800GT 256MB, and the FX4500 512MB.

The 6600 is a significant upgrade from your 6600LE (which is more-or-less a 6200), and the 7800GT is the fastest reasonably priced card at $300ish (FX4500 is $1800ish)

Where did you see a Mac 7800 GT for $300?

Apple's list is $745, perhaps you know of a discount?

It's $300 when you purchase it as an upgrade when putting your system together.

Where did you see it for $745? WOW, where do they get off asking for that much?

He's already bought his Power Mac G5 DC 2.0, so he's got 1 option for an upgrade as far as I know, and that's the Nvidia Geforce 6600 from the Apple Store.

Apple doesn't sell the Geforce 7800 GT or the Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 as separate items. He should have upgraded when he purchased his PM DC 2.0.

ATI might eventually come out with the Radeon X1800 that they demoed at MacWorld, but I haven't seen it announced, yet.

Sorry, I forgot the Mac tax; that's the price of the PC version.

About half way down the page, a guy took a bad one in and that was listed retail on Apple paperwork.

I have heard that Small Dog has sold a few separately too.

That Rob guy at Barefeats has a line on some as well.

The 6600 is hardly an upgrade from a 6600LE.
