Do any of you wish that iTunes would let you list multiple albums for any given track? I use Smart Playlists extensively, and most of them use either Play Count or Last Played. When I have the same song in different albums (right now, I do this with duplicate files as I'm pretty sure everyone else does), I could end up hearing it more frequently than I would otherwise. And, the play count for each copy of the song isn't as high as the actual number of times I've listened to the song.
I know this boils down to me beign incredibly anal retentive about my tags (I have rated each of my 6000+ songs and gathered year information about more than 4000), but it seems like it's a minor area in which iTunes is lacking. And it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult a feature to implement. The Show Duplicate Songs is a step in the right direction, but I'm not going to remove a song from its album just because I already have it in another album.
Is anyone else with me?

it is a minor thing, but I agree .... the minor things that Apple does with its software is what seperates it from everyone else.
And yes, I agree with multimple albums for any given track, I have quite a few suffereing from that same dilemna, and considering the fact that I ripped every CD I own into iTunes... it would be nice to know which song is on what CD as I also use it as an index of my CDs.

That's exactly what I do. I rarely listen to studio albums from beginning to end (with a few major exceptions), so it's not really a big deal for me. Nevertheless, I agree that Apple should do something about this.

Yeah, same dilemna here. I often have the same track in a greatest hits, the original album, a soundtrack album, and other various compilations.
I've resorted to erasing all the duplicates and keeping a single copy in the greatest hits CD for a particular artist. But sadly it destroys the continuity of the albums and the context that a particular song plays in that album. I've had to create playlists for those "special" albums that I can't bear to break up. albums like Def Leppard Pyromania/Hysteria, GN'R Appetite For Destruction, AC/DC Back In Black, and Led Zeppelin 4 are some examples that pop into my head of CDs I can't break up.
As a workaround, I created playlist for those CDs. It's a pain.....
A workaround is to right-click or command-click on a song to show the pop-up menu. The pop-up menu has a submenu called Playlists which shows all the playlists that the song appears in. It's the closest thing we have for multiple albums.
I'd also love nested folders that allows me to group my playlists.
Using and/or logic in the smart playlists settings.
Better random smart playlists. I'd like to have the option to create a new random playlist. I have this currently:
Create Smart Playlist
Genre is Rock
Limit to 3 GBs selected by random
I always have to create a new smart playlist to get a whole new batch of songs. Maybe if there was a pop-up menu to "re-shuffle" the playlist whenever I want. At the moment, I just erase the old smart playlist and make a new one.
Multiple libraries for one user. At the moment, I log out of the current user and switch to a new user in OS X so that I can switch libraries. There's also an AppleScript Library manager but it's not as nicely integrated into iTunes.
I also wished that the CDDB would include cover art whenever I select "Get CD Track Names"
In the same vein as multiple albums, I'd also like multiple artists..... Right now I'd have stuff like "Link Park & Jay-Z" and it appears as a separate artist in the Artist Browser window.

What I do to get around that (though I realize it's not truly random) is to sort the playlist by Least Recently Played. That way, once I listen to it, it's bumped off the list and replaced by the next most recently played not on the list.

Just erase the songs in the smart playlist and iTunes will automatically repopulate it.
