I've noticed that my Ti's fan seems to come on more often than usual lately. At first I thought I was just noticing something that isn't really a problem, but now I think that there may be some issues with my Ti. I was wondering what others' experiences were with this Ti:

Ti 667 (rev. b, I believe), 16 megs VRAM, 10.2.2, DVD drive

It seems that my fan comes on any time there's even the slightest bit of usage now. I tested this by logging out, letting the machine sit until the fan quit and then logging in. Just that little bit of activity caused the fan to come on. It'll go off after a few minutes but then it kicks right back in. Is there a CPU temp utility that I can use to track the temperature? Is this normal and maybe I'm just overreacting?

I've been using a coolpad to help improve airflow, but that doesn't seem to be helping...

There is definetely something wrong with your machine. Maybe the heatsink doesnt fit properly onto your G4 (bending casings could cause this, since the heatsink is not mechanically connected to the CPU die or mainboard (its sticking with the upper titanium case and connection is mediated through a thermal conductive pad))
