and where does macnn fall on that list for you in terms of frequency?
me i guess theres 4 main ones (of which this is the one i frequent most by far. only a couple hundred posts at the other places) and 3-4 other ones i just sort of hang out at.
as for the "why?", i dont have anything better to do. most of "the damage" is done while at work.

Only this one (since im back in the boat (back on the Mac)) and a small german Macintosh forum. I dont want to spoil too much time in front of a computer (either Mac or anything else).

There are a couple of other forums that I visit regularly outside of MacNN, but these are the only fora where I post regularly.

I used to go to a lot...but on some boards, the staff and the people are REALLY uptight. So, I go to like 4 now. MacNN being one of them. It's really enjoyable and the people don't have sticks up their asses. Thanks.

MacNN and OMG. And I'm thinking of dropping NN due to Ceratain Users. Which will bring me down to one message board. Must branch out.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

Here and the Leica User's Group, which is actually a listserve rather than a board. Now that I'm in school and no longer do photography professionally, I don't keep up with the LUG as much as I used to. But I'm still a subscriber and it is a great enthusiast's community.
I also used to belong to a couple of other photography lists. The Hasselblad User's Group is useful for information about Hasselblad cameras. The traffic on that list is pretty low otherwise. In contrast, the Medium Format Digest became overwhelming. While I no longer subscribe, I find the archives of both those lists to be useful.

Mostly here, and sometimes at the travel message boards over at Lonely Planet. When I hear of other places, I'll often lurk there briefly for a little while, and then move on.

So, after all this "make another forum for politics" whining - and it looks as if it may happen - you are going to leave?
