Does anyone know if I should invest in a ScreensavRz from radtech to protect the keyboard from hitting the screen on a 17" PB?

From what I understand reading through various posts, the 12" has more clearance then the earlier iBooks or TiBooks and doesn't require something to prevent the keyboard from leaving marks on the LCD. Since the 17" is the same design as the 12" (just bigger) I would assume the case is the same regarding it. Guess we won't know for sure until someone actually gets their paws on one.

I agree. We just can't know until someone gets it. The TiBook screen clears the keys when closed with plenty of room. The problem with the Ti was that the screen enclosure was a tad flemsy and would touch the keys only when it was closed and the screen was pushed into them. The clearance is greater on the 12" that's true, but the big factor is that the top portion that encloses the screen is stronger than with the Ti (and its small, so not that much room to bend). I am worried that though the screen enclosure is tough like the 12", the extra wide-ness of the 17" might give the screen enough to flex a little.
We shall see.

I dunno the usefulness of the ScreenSaverz from Radtech on the 17" is. But my 17" ScreenSaverz and Sleeve has already arrived. They are really nice in construction and quality. Huge Too! I guess I can always use the ScreenSaverz as a cleaning cloth if its not needed to protect the keyboard..

With the "old" 15"PB's there was the problem with damages on the screen by the keyboard and damages on the corners. For these problems, Apple has made a better constuction by placing little soft studs in the corners, which eliminates all the problems.
My conclusion will be that there is no extra invest neccessary.
