Some users seem to be attaching nicknames to their 17-inch PowerBooks.
For example, mgehman on the thread "Topic: Problems with my brand new 17" called his "BigAl."
Any preferences for nicknames? Let's take a poll.

According to MacTracker, its internal nickname was "Hammerhead". Makes sense.

I found this picture:
Note that in this picture the livery reads 'Blue World' is due to tobacco bann in Europe sport, usually it reads 'Mild Seven'.

Dr. Evil.
I figure if the 12" PowerBook is Mini-Me, it just stands to reason.

I allways call it the 17"PB.
Just easy, everybody knows what you means.
Why to call it SilverDog, SilverPlate, SilverBook, SilverSomething. It's no silver, just aluminium.
Why to call it BigAl, BigBook, Bigsomething. It's still small enough to carry it around. I take it every day to my work.
Like I said, just cal it by it;s name: 17"PB.

I'm going to get mine in a week or so, after selling the TiBook to a friend of mine.
So not very used to name it, but like the "lunch tray", but I guess AlBook will be it, as a successor to TiBook.

Just for reference, I have decided to call mine "Virgil," in honor of Dante's guide in _The Inferno._
Incidentally, Virgil is also the name of the underground exploratory vehicle in the recent movie, "The Core."
It seems to make sense, since Virgil will be my guide to the inferno of searching for computer-related careers in the Post-Dot-Com Era.

"Yaobook" is what we've been calling the 12" PBs, since that's what he was carrying in the commercial. "MiniMeBook" doesn't seem to have the same ring to it.
We actually named our PB17 "Kryten" after the humanoid robot in Red Dwarf, following a tradition started two computers back ("Holly" was our Power Computing clone, and the external HD was "Hilly" - followed by "Queeg 450" for the big, black, bada$$ G4 tower). We also refer to the PB17 as the "Fab Slab", the "B-17" occasionally, or "the Flattop".
