im about to get a refurbed 15" PB from the online apple store and there are two options.
Only to me they seem fairly identical apart from the onboard ram, original price and video ram.

The sale price is only 50 bucks different...

Get the model for $1599. It was the last Powerbook released prior to Intel.

It has:
-Faster RAM (DDR2 PC2-4200 vs. DDR333 PC2700)
-More VRAM (128MB DDR vs. 64MB DDR)
-Higher resolution display (1440 x 960 vs. 1280 x 854)
-Faster Superdrive (Dual-Layer burning capability, too)

Those are the only noticeable differences. But for an extra $50, I think it's worth it.

amusing that the response in other multiple post (sorry again) was with opposite advice.
anyway decided to go for the $1599 with the xtra video ram. lots of scrolling showing waves and other bits in pieces in audio so anything that helps the machine rock along is good.

thanks all.
