So I was checking out a 75' concert of Queen the other day and was just simply amazed how talented these guys were live.
Had never heard them play live, I really had no clue.
Hate to say this, but they OWNED Zepplin as far as musical ability goes.
Page was always a little sloppy live (Could have been the heroin) but Brian May was just DEAD ON.
Playing stuff far ahead of the time. And his tone.. from a home-made guitar.
That has some mojo.

Dude, big claims, big claims. I'll be interested to have a listen. Zepplin were certainly talented live from teh recordings I've heard (BBC Sessions). Perhaps what they lacked in sharpness they made up for in improvisational ability.
PS Is the torrent a video? Do you think it will play on an iBook G3 500 with 640 RAM? Just checking it's worth the download.

Plant was/is not an excellent live singer. Studio yes, live no.
Mercury had the vocal chords.

If you don't already own it, buy Queens first album. Pink and purple with a silver dude holding a mic. I've heard people go on and on about YES. Queen flosses YES out of their teeth each night.

Hmmm... ...I would have used the word "unique" rather than "nice" but while we're at it let's not forget that his pre-amp is home-made too.

Vox amps, yes. But he drives them via a crappy home-made pre-amp. Vox do some kind of approximation of it at the moment. Here's a pic of the original with a link to the Vox page...

Mercury was the man. He had talent, he had style.
Friend of mine told me about a party at Mercury's house. After going through security he walked into the elevator, the attendants were two naked girls, painted gold. It got better from there onwards. Debauchery, pure debauchery.

I often mourn the loss of Freddie. I wasn't into the debauchery. It was the artist I miss. And his band, Queen, kicks ass. Even when they finally embraced synthesizers, after so many years of resisting, they still kicked ass.

I've always thought highly of Brian May, even back in the day. But I never got to see Queen live, either. Disappointing.

Not that it matters to me. I am not a homophobe.
Nor do I think I am better than anyone else.
So why was it relevant to this post oh hateful one?

It's relevant because according to your book, he was a sinner and is burning in hell forever. So I don't know why you look up to them.

leehotti according to my book no one but God knows who goes and who doesn't
I have no idea who is wear, nor would I want to know.
We are ALL sinners. I am not better than he was, so why should I look DOWN on him?
You are projecting alot of hateful ideals just that aren't there. And it seems you are indifferent because of that fact.
So unless you have anything useful to ad, go play in the sink.
I am against adultery too. Should I hate all heterosexuals as well?
I bet you think all Muslims are Jew haters as well.

Queen rocks. What a great band.
As for accusations of what happens to who, let God judge what happens to people. It's his responsibility, not ours.

Growing up in the seventies, I looked back and thought the music sucked when comparing it to the 60s, but now looking back again I'm quite into that music. The broad range of rock was awesome. Queen, Aerosmith, Frampton, Bowie, The Cars, The Allman Brothers, Edgar Winter, Alice Cooper and on and on. I look at whats going on now, and even though I like some of the music, the total package doesn't come close.
I saw Queen four times in the seventies. Freddie Mercury hitting the keys of the piano (hidden) and then it rose to come even with the stage. He had great presence.
I miss him and all the era he was part of.
I even miss that certain aroma wafting through most concert halls which is mostly missing these days.

You need to read the bible, twisted religious / institutions say that, the book has only a couple references about it.

Yeah, Plant never took care of his voice - plus all the drugs didnt help. I actually collect Zep bootlegs and after 73 or so his voice dies. He used to open early shows with immigrant song without warming up! Yikes!
Early shows were actually very, very good. Shows after that were hit or miss.

Nobody ever owned Zeppelin, studio or live or ability. Page played the guitar with magical abililites. Being dead-on all the time would be boring and sound the same everytime.

Page was one sloppy mofo. I am not talking about being dead on. I am talking about just plain out sloppy.
This was during their later years. When he was all smacked out on heroin.

Zep is always diminished in my eyes for ripping off so many artists without giving credit. That sucks.
And we can all fawn over Queen, but they were the kings of bombastic, over-the-top rock, kitschy camp-rock. That's cool and all, but it could definitely get quite overstimulating. In addition (and perhaps because of this), their albums were quite uneven as well. They had, what, maybe 4 or 5 really solid albums out of the 11+ they put out?

Wow...
So LZ rearranged and rewrote a few blues numbers that the original "writers" also borrowed from others before and made them into popular music because of their unique arrangement, sound, and Plant's vocal abilities.
That's really stealing and not giving credit...they didn't write the LZ song!
