Which makes getting them riled up all the more hilarious. Although I can't count the number of times I got snotted on.

That's reassuring. Let's just stick to Twister then, shall we.

Dude, don't push it.

Missing a chance to spend money on parts to pimp out your car isn't life hating you; that's being a goddamn whiny twit.

I only got 12 MPG instead of the usual 13 MPG on the way down to a party in Brum the other night.

Whatever guys I was trying to think the turbo kit would be a positive thing. You know, focus on the good stuff. But alas.

...exhibit A. Now you're just being emo. So what if you lost an auction? Find another one to bid on, or find something else to brighten your day.

What is it about the internet that empowers people to come up with such pointed and dogmatic advice about such complex subjects as somebody's life with only a few fragments of information and a few semi-expressive posts? This ain't Judge Judy, this is Rob's life. Nobody here is in a good position to be judging or preaching advice with any degree of certainty.

All I'm saying is that one should be careful about introducing more negativity towards somebody on the internet who is not at their best. What if Rob gets pissed at the Emo thing and goes out and strangles a cat or something?

So I shouldn't have done this?

Oh, and if I get so sick of reading your inane, pointless posts that I blow my brains out is it your fault or mine?

Well, I'd probably want to claim credit for that...

Whatever happened to good old Gossamer that would post on Fuzzy Wombat and was far less combative? You've changed man. Let go of your inner rage and embrace your inner child. I love you.

I'm with shifuimam, but not exactly. It hurts when you're down and get another negative like this. Sure, the kit would be cool, but it's not unique in the universe. Do what she says-find something else to brighten your day. A good cup of coffee, watching the birds in the park, anything. Focus on the good stuff and let the negatives melt; you give the negatives control when you hang onto them like this.

Sorry you lost the auction. Use the money to do something else and roll with it. Hey, you've put up with this crowd (who have also put up with you ) for quite a while-you can do just about anything you set your mind to.

-Thank Kipling for this, its worth a read when things seem bad.

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Sorry bout your troubles, but only time will make it go away. Just don't take even the silliest thing/blessing for granted.

After spending almost 6 years of my life in the US, where I really made things happen for myself, I was forced to move to a third world country and start everything from scratch. Two and a half years on I realize that the US is truly the only free country on the planet. Trust me, you still have a lot of things to be grateful about. Cheer up.

Funny I know! I wouldn't ever make that statement until 2 years ago. But when it comes to the basics, that's the place where you can really go from 0 to 10 with as little trouble as possible, when compared to other countries. So yah, it's fairly relative.

Trouble is, other countries sometimes let you go from 0 to 170 with few problems.
