First of all, T-Mobile and a bunch of other carriers (notably, Nextel) are adding some 18,000 lamppost antennas to NYC in an effort to create 100% total reception throughout the entire city, hopefully even in dense buildings and in the subway. This will be done by the end of the year.

http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/18259.htm

Next, they're ending the current roaming agreement with Cingular in California, buying $2.5 billion dollars worth of Cingular's antennas once they merge with AT&T, and forming a nationwide (!) roaming agreement with Cingular. This will happen whenever the Cingular/AT&T deal is approved by government regulations.

http://www.t-mobile.com/company/pres...release100.asp

The only problem with the Cingular roaming agreement is that most of Cingular's GSM network is 800/850 MHz, so T-Mobile customers that wish to roam will need a phone capable of receiving that frequency.

This is really good news for T-Mobile customers though. Reception is my ONLY complaint about T-Mobile, but this should really, really help!

Why did you go with T-Mobile if you can't use the service you are paying for?

Yep, my father lives in the area and I get one bar at best.

But the Cingular roaming agreement should help once it's implemented, they have decent coverage in the area.

Uh huh. In comparison AT&T, cingular and verizon have lousy packages. One charges per KB, the other charges some other amount, and the last charges between $9 and $20 a month for it o_O

*hugs tmobile* they have their sucky side but are a good deal I'll take the $5 unlimited

I hate the Telekom.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.
