hey kids, how's things?, i've been away from the board since the summer i think.
been a hectic fall.
just got a MacPro at work, and the inspiration has brought me back to 'NN. If anyone missed me, sincere apologies, if you didn't, well, i won't be hurt.
So, what's the general feeling about this "Mighty Mouse"? Thusfar, I love it! The ol' nipple is a good time as far as i'm concerned.

I thought it was okay for general use, but bad for gaming. I'd continually hit the Expose buttons. So I finally disabled that but I found it was a hassle to take my index finger off of the surface so that I was able to right click...this made throwing grenades in Halo quite difficult.

Liking it.
Disabled the side buttons, put Expose on the nipple button. Still haven't got used to "take finger off first" right clicking yet. Haven't used it for any games yet.

Mighty Mouse: I like it a lot. As Doofy did, I disabled the side buttons and put expose as the nipple button. I like side scrolling a LOT.

Just wait until the nipple gets dirty, you won't like it anymore.
Same here, disabled the side buttons and expose in the middle.

I still love my Wacom tablet, that said I'm enjoying the two finger side scroll on my MacBook.

I missed you, Mrs Larry.
But I can't really offer any insight as it relates to the 'Mighty Mouse' - since I use a peecee with a 7 year old mechanical PS/2 ball mouse. When it breaks I figure I'll update to one of those scroll-wheel USB mouses.

That feeling will last for about a week only. Maybe two if you wash your hands every time before you touch it. The Mighty-Mouse is one big design flaw.

And that's not the first time I've heard a PC user say "mouses" instead of "mice", either. Is "mouses" just a peecee thing or something?

Mouses is the plural of a computer mouse. I think mice also is, but both are in the dictionary.
I'm surprised Spliffdaddy, with his super-ultra-world's-fastest-supercomputer, is using a 7 year old PS/2 ball mouse.

USB mouses have some lag during games, and infrared mouses don't track well on my antique oak library table.
You should see my keyboard. It's from a 8 year old Packard Bell 133MHz machine. The frame beneath the keyboard is heavy gauge steel. I keep buying new keyboards and they all seem to meet the same fate. The 'c' and 'x' keys team up together, so when I type 'c' it displays 'cx' or 'xc'. Baffles me. It happened to the last 3 keyboards I bought. Even a $85 shorty 19" 'Cherry' rack-server keyboard...the best made.

Rub it firmly against a piece of cloth. Your shirt or sweater or whatever. And you're good to go for a few days.
I don't know what it is but the might mouse makes my hands greasy. I never had that before.

The nipple-wheel keeps me FROM buying it.
I just camn't see how it will last a long time. Always seemed like flawed design to me.

Honestly I wish Apple would standardize on shipping tablets with their Macs . I think it'd be great, and then ship a photoshop like app as part of the OS ... and piss off adobe.

Yeah, cause Apple needs to piss off their third party developers more.

I'm not sure where you were in 1998, but IIRC PCs were up to at least 300MHz at that point, definitely not 133.

My feeling too, until I got a tip from someone who works at an Apple Gravis Store in Germany. I now use a cloth drenched lightly with a glass/window cleaner, works like a charm.

I tolerate it. As long as you disable the side buttons it's fine. Well, make them "Button 4" anyway so you can still use them for games - it's my autorun in WoW.
I do prefer my good old MS Intellimouse Explorer though, even though the cable is coming off
