Yes, it can be done--by taking out the optical drive. Have a look:

yep, known this for a while, looking forward to putting a 512 gb ssd in my early 'o8 2.5ghz. It will then be the perfect machine

I remember when Apple started using SATA opticals instead of PATA the idea was immediately passed around. Nice to see somebody actually try it out.

That would be pure awesomeness in my alumibook.. but I am guessing it wouldn't fit.

Someone will be selling these in a couple of months and you Pro guys are LUCKY.
