Just found this article that says the iPhone does have iChat.

I don't see an iChat icon on the iPhone demo. hmmm, not sure.

I think they might've mistaken the SMS feature; which looks like iChat.

I'd say that is very likely. It got me unnecessarily excited.

iChat A/V will likely wait until the v2 phone with 3G. I'm guessing it will be out at the Jan '08 MWSF just in time for the European release. Also included will be iTunes Store downloading over-the-air.

Isn't the camera on the back?
It's a probably moot point now, but what good is iChat A/V going to be with the camera facing the wrong way?

I don't understand why they can't / didn't implement iChat (w/o A/V) in the iPhone.

Can't be that hard, every freaking cell phone can do AOL IM these days...
