I'm ticked off by all the problems I have with my employer's mail server, basically I need to be connected via a vpn -- which interferes with other things. Anywho, I thought of configuring an smtp server on my parents' Mac mini and send all my mail via this machine.

Does anyone know a good tutorial? I've found tutorials which were not OS X specific or OS X-specific tutorials that were not explaining most of the installation routine. In particular, I want all communication to be encrypted after authorization. I don't care about the specific flavor of authorization as long as it is supported by OS X' Mail. I'd appreciate pointers
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
