By background, I'm talking about the blank space where the paper isn't while in Preview mode. In Word, that same concept is a nice shade of blue. In FMP7, it's the alternating white/black checkerboard we used to have to use to imitate grey, back before we had Macs that could do grey levels.... ya know- 1988.

IMHO, this faked greyscale is just painfully ugly and dated sitting next to brushed metal, drop shadows and aqua "lickability". Am I just missing a preference option here? Am I the only one who thinks this color should be variable, or at least set as a normal grey level?
