Love it when they add 5K to MSRP and call it the "dealer price".... and for a car that you can definitely deal on.

Legally, they have to have the MSRP sticker on the window of a new car sold in the US.

But you are allowed to charge what the market can bear.

They probably put the dealer price stick in the window to keep people from thinking that they are going to pay MSRP.

It's really the same as going to a baseball game and paying $7.50 for a $1.50 beer any where else.

They simply have the market cornered.

Usually, they will add a sticker or some other customization at the dealership and then charge a huge premium for a "custom" car.

But I wouldn't call them slime for trying to make money legally.

That is interesting. A PS joke, or maybe this isn't a car being sold in the USA?

Tax. in the US - they tax you on cars that do not meet a certain miles per gallon on gas consumption.

ah yes.... Slime or not... that's subjective. However, the way that the pricing is done.. they're charging you for two wheel upgrades (stock 18" to 19"s then to the ones that come with the Comp. Pkg) but actually only giving you one. The wheels pictured are the 19"

What's the point in having an automatic M3 anyways......? No clutch, no fun.

For those that track their cars.... it gives them an advantage - assuming the driving skills are equal.

This only being true in the case of the SMG gearbox or other comparable gearboxes. Your feet+a clutch is still way faster than any automatic gearbox (again, the SMG being an exception).

And that is precisely the type of gearbox we are referring to.

I know. Just wanted to add this extra info

Anyway the Gas Guzzler tax has a funny name. Sadly enough we pay taxes for every kind of car over here. An M3 is about 5000 a year.

The dealer has supposedly added the "Competition Package" to the vehicle, but if you read the items in the MSRP sticker, you can see that the Competition Package was already installed at the factory, and is included in the 65k price.

The dealer is double charging for that item, and at $1000 more than the factory price.
