Did a little looking around and couldn't find anything related so I figured I'd start the topic. Anyone know if Apple will release their next round of Cinema Displays with iSight camera's? Obviously we're seeing a trend with the Macbook Pro and the previous and current iMac having them built into the LCD. I have a 24' Dell right now and recently bought a Powermac so I'm looking to switch to a 20' or 23' Cinema display...also interested in getting an iSight. But if this is something that's coming in the near future, I'll wait it out.

I would think they will soon. Not only the fact that the isights are showing up in all the new displays, but the specs on the Cinema Displays are now overshadowed by the iMac. Hell, even the new Macbook Pro's screen looks less yellow then the 20" ACD.

Hopefully they'll add HDCP support to.

They MIGHT have iSights built in but there are plenty of business' that do not want camera's all over the place.
They better have a BTO option without one.

Like Wookie says, a lot of businesses don't like cameras inside their offices. Personally I don't get the fascination with having a camera in a separate screen. I can understand it in an iMac or laptop, because you are getting the whole computer system, but with monitors, you could be plugging the screen into anything, Mac or PC, that might already have an iSight built in or plugged in to the computer. I don't want to pay for a camera when I don't need one or have already got one.
Are there any other monitors that have a built in camera???

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

(Gah! Bad punctuation making my eyes bleed! It's "displays", "cameras", and "businesses"! And it's 20", 23" and 24" [inches], not 20', 23', and 24' [feet]!

I hear ya'. It makes me nuts! And then people on the internet get in such a snit if you point it out. Like actually spelling correctly, understanding grammar and punctuation is so passe. And it's so beautifully ironic that the most xenophobic people are often the least adept with their own language (not that I'm accusing anyone at MacNN of that - I mean it more generally).
Anyway... I'm glad I'm not the only one who cringes.
Carry on with the convo about display's & camerases

Get laid and then you may understand bigger things then grammEr and speling...
I'm not directing this to anyone at MacNN, I'm just stating a fact...

Are you 12?
@topic: I'm guessing they'll have iSights too. Oh, and they'll probably be HD. Well, hopefully.

Oh F*ckDell... I wish I could make you rest easier and tell you that I'm a pimple-faced computer geek who never gets laid and only worries about people's grammar. But the unfortunate truth is I have an absolutely beautiful, successful, loving girlfriend and we have a great sex life.
I just happen to write for a living. So I kind of respect the English language and wish that other people did too.
Anyway, we're off topic. And, really, I can't imagine anyone else here cares about my love life. So, please.... carry on.

Competition in the market will lower price or increase features (or both).

I think now I can spare my "display's what?" comment…

I haven't even thought about it. That said, Apple almost never upgrades their displays. Some days I wonder if they might bring back at 17 inch wide screen display.
