Hi.

My 1.83ghz Intel iMac (10.5.1) seized up on me last night. Now, when I boot up, I get the kernel panic multi-language "You need to restart your computer" screen... every single time.

I have made no hardware changes to the computer since i purchased it. I just upgraded to Leopard last week. I removed and re-installed the RAM. I reset the PRAM.

I cannot start from disc (holding C).

Any ideas what is going on??

Thanks so much!

This is never fun.

You may have tried these suggestions already but maybe:

Start in safe mode holding Shift.
start with no peripherals plugged in.
Boot holding Option to see if that will let you get to the disk.
Put it in firewire disk mode and mountit on another Mac to repair the hard drive with Disk Utility or Disk Warrior.

I'm not sure if any of those will help, but it's a start.

What external devices do you have plugged into the computer?
