Which kind of webcam do you have? Apple iSight? Logitech Quickcam? Just post which kind and we can help you out.

I have a sony DCR-TRV18 dv cam , it's worked in the past , now its not

Oh sorry... I have had zero experience with DV Camcorders, it is something I have yet to delve in to. Hopefully someone else here on the forums can lend a hand.

All I can say is that my MUCH older Sony camera works perfectly fine with 10.3.5 I'm guessing that there is some issue with some software you installed "stealing" the video/audio feed.
