hello.

my software updater on my ti-panther-powerbook tells me to update to java 1.4.2, about 29mb. when it tries to install, it fails, telling me to install 1.4.1. so i goto apple, and manually download 1.4.1, and the install process seems to go fine.

when i try to update java to 1.4.2, it still fails, telling me the exact same thing.

strange. is this update very important? any ill effects? how do i know what version of java i have on my machine? and why won't the update install? questions...questions....

if anybody can help, i'd be indebted.

thanks in advanced.
daniel.
