If it makes you feel any better, I just installed the new 10.2.8 and my 15" AlBook is feeling the battery love now.

Before I would get 1:45-2:00 actual usage and battery meter time.

I've just pulled the unit off AC and after 30 minutes the battery menu has settled down and I have 2:50 left.

Not as good as my gig-a-book but much more in line with my expectations.

Just tested out my 15" AlBook 1.25GHz I charged it up to 100% then attached my Sony SRS-T100PC USB (bus powered) speakers and my smart disk Firelite Hardrive (firewire bus powered) and watched a full DVD just a little over 2 hours. I am a lot happier but still could do better. Just waiting for Panther!

I'm glad to see that battery usage was fixed. Any other notable fixes applied by 10.2.8?

I have had a lot of other problems sleep issues and kernel panics, I am actually getting an exchange when the local store gets one in, anyway I haven't played a whole lot yet but since the update I have not come across any of the earlier problems, and with what I have been doing before I would have for sure. I guess I'll wait and see, might not need the exchange now.

Just out of curiosity, what does X-Bench report that your 12" is running at, mhz-wise? There are a bunch of reports of reduced processor readings well below the model specs, which would certainly account for the long battery life.

one report from Xbench: 12" 867 mhz is shown as 524 mhz. On the other hand, the cpu test seems normal for that model.

My X-bench is correctly reporting my 1.25GHz under the new 10.2.8.

I just went through a discharge/charge cycle to recalibrate, and X-charge showed steps at both ends of the cycle; I jumped from 20% to 4% during discharge, and from 92% to 100% all at once. Strange.

Just pulled the plug and it's reporting 1:05 left. Now 2:10. Now 1:27.

You get the idea. Looks like the timer is even less useful than before.
