Did you happen to ask one of the employees if they have it or did you just go in, look and leave? I would assume that if it is not out on the shelves that they probably have it in the back somewhere.

yeah, i was in a rush, so i sorta just look and left... i'll probably go back after work and check it out again... i just always wonder why they don't just put that stuff out... they always seem to wait until like 8pm the day of the release to even show this stuff... they did the same for panther and other things...

Not regarding the Apple Store but I stopped by CompUSA while I was out working to see if they had it so I could save myself the 45 minute drive to the Apple Store.

They had them in back and I was gonna by it but they wanted freaking $79.99. I was like, no dice, theyre $49.99. The girl says, "oh thats probably with mail in rebates"; I say No, they are $49.99 anywhere. They looked online and junk and when they saw that it was $49.99 but couldnt find it in their own systems they still said $79.99, I said see ya. Ive got a 45 minute drive in my plans for the night. heh.

Damn.. Are you willing to drive to Ellensburg?

I checked out the local Mac store here.. they said the shipment hasn't arrived.

Man.. I wish I am still in Bellevue.

About the $79 box.. it should be the "iLife '04 Family Pack"

But, surprisingly,The Soho Applestore only had the family pack. Oh well. I'm jamming on a nice synth sweep here at work.

Would the box say so on it? I didnt even think to look and of course the CompUSA employees had no idea since it is a Mac product.

Mac? Oh, yeah. I've heard of those. Does Mac still make them computers?
You don't want one of those. No games for 'em. You want this Toshiba laptop instead. Only 9 pounds with a 2.4GHz Celeron and 128MB of RAM. Its got cool Intel integrated graphics, too. And its on sale for $1,995. Plus, if you sign up for 6 years of MSN dialup, you get a $50 rebate!

Picked a copy at the Somerset (Troy, MI) store. There were more than a few boxes scattered around the store.

Speaking of cost, I really wanna get this, but it costs 39 from the UK apple store, even though it's only $49 in the US. That translates as 27 over here, what with the dollar being worth f**k all right now. I wouldn't usually worry about a matter of twelve quid, but I can't help wondering whether the UK price will drop to mirror the fall of the dollar? Probably not.

I guess I'll have to get a keyboard too, anyway.

I'm using a G4 933 iBook with 384mb ram. Is this enough to run Garageband comfortably? I'd appreciate your opinions on this.

Thanks guys.

If you ordered iLife with overnight shipping and noticed that the FedEx tracking specified it was shipped via 2 day service, call Apple and wait 20 minutes and get your $13 back. I did, as has others.
