i'm sure this has been done before, but with the latest browsers getting a lot of updates, perhaps some people have changed.

Safari unless I have to use another browser to satisfy some specific website, in which case I usually use Camino.

4. Opera
5. Netscape
6. Mozilla
7. Shiira
8. Camino
I have all these and use them all. I'm using Shiira right now.

I use Firefox, Safari and Camino. Each has their plus and minus attributes. Picking just one is like saying you wear the same clothes or eat the same food everyday. Each of us has our personal preferences based on our type of use, hardware and other factors. They all get my vote. I'm sure any others mentioned in this forum also have their merits along with devoted followers.

On OS X, Safari usually, Camino occasionally, Firefox sometimes for Greasemonkey or to check rendering when I'm writing CSS.
On OS 9, Netscape.
Firefox, Konqueror, or Netscape (when it's the only thing available) on Linux.
Firefox on Windows when possible, IE otherwise.

I use Safari and Firefox both but am constantly re-auditioning browsers when updates appear.
On 9, I use WamCom or IE.

I use Safari as my main browser, for the main reason that it comes with the OS, and, unlike IE on Windows, is actually good.
I also use Firefox, Opera, Camino, and the dreaded IE for when I'm working on website design.

Firefox - currently using 1.5 which is very proming. In spite of some stability problems it's much nicer looking and quicker on Mac, and Firefox was already my main browser. However, I love Omniweb and iCab. If either of them were to become more stable than Firefox I'd seriously consider switching.

I can't complain about Safari. Apple keeps supporting its development, and I think we can look for more good things to come!

I like some things about Firefox & occasionally it will work better on something than Safari, but I find some of the buttons kind of clunky in appearance.
Safari is looking better and better to me.

Camino for the most part, especially now that 1.0 is in beta. Safari now and then, though I'm not a huge fan. I also have Firefox and *shudder* IE, but rarely use either.
On Windows I use Firefox exclusively, save for the rare occasion on which I find an old IE-only site. Thankfully those are becoming fewer and farther between.

All the computers at the university I'm on exchange at use Netscape 6.2 by default. The only other option is IE 6, and even then you have to go 'hunting' in Program Files to find it.
Now that's depressing.

For those of you who use Camino, don't the animated GIFs seem to slow it worse even than Safari?
Ex.: try doing an advanced post in Camino and watch how slowly the typing registers.
Makes it awful for surfing these forums

You're using Camino 0.8.4, right?
Perhaps its time you update, cause the slow gif animation bug was fixed 4-5 months ago...

Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.

I use Safari 98% of the time because it meets my needs and uses, it's not perfect but I prefer it. I have Camino which I keep updated with the nightly builds and use occasionally. I've downloaded and dumped Firefox at least 5 times including the latest 1.5 v. I just don't understand the fascination for it by Mac users. For my uses it is in no way superior or equal to Safari, and it feels like a PC port with Mac as an after thought.

Now if someone could tell me that Safari 's latest had fixed the animated gif problem... I'd be going to the trouble to upgrade to 10.4.3...

Thanks. Good idea. I generally hate nagware that wastes lots of connection time with info about available upgrades (Dreamweaver comes to mind), but this would have been a valuable tip to be displayed by Camino.

I have had long debates with myself, but I had to go with firefox. The list of add-ons is too great (I can't like without Stumbleupon!, sessionsaver, and the google "fill-query-asugo" thing).
I used to use Safari, because its a little bit snappier and scrolls more smoothly, but addons are important to me. Someone should work on that.

hmm, the quick-reply looked like it was freezing up. I pressed it a couple times while watching the "wristwatch" cursor, and it posted twice. My apologise.

i've actually been using firefox full time since the g4 and g5 optimized 1.5 builds have been out and i'm liking it a lot. mostly because of the onsane amount of extensions available (adblock, web developer, google suggest, del.icio.us, backpack, nextplease, grapple theme, etc. etc.).
however, whenever omni comes out with omniweb using the latest available webkits, i will probably give switching back to it some serious thought.
