I thought I would start a thread dedicated to the Clamshell iBooks, since the regular iBooks and Macbooks have thier own, now so will we!

Here is mine.

I will add more when I get my Clamshell desk area fixed up with a new desk

Bring em on MACNN members!

Whoever owned that Clamshell before you seems to have taken extreme care of it - or you found some magical formula to make it look mint.

Ahh yah if I had some more money I'd surely try to dig one up too somewhere, as a companion to my Macbook!

Tangerine iBook. Upgraded to 378MB RAM, a CD-RW/DVD combo drive (doesn't boot off CD, though), and a 466MHz board from a Graphite iBook SE. Looking at upgrading the display - details here.

A loving amount of care has been given to this Clammy, I am owner #3 so far as I know, and I think from day 1 this Clamshell was destined to be a looker forever

Very nice, the Graphites were always a clean looking Clamshell. Somehow though, I kinda wish I had that bright orange color, lol.

Thanks! Cool to see that someone besides me carries their Classic desktop pictures to OS X machines. I think that Heavy Petal, on the Clamshell since April 2005, looks amazing with Aqua. It is my favorite.

Yeah Chase, I know. I'm still trying to get this Clammy right, and I have not put my camera software on the Clammy yet, so I took the pic, uploaded to my Slowshiba, used a USB drive, and uploaded to my Clammy, once I uploaded I realized they were enourmous. My bad.

I have a Key Lime model. I will post pictures by the end of the week but my Clamshell is in service right now as i am having a new lid installed so that it is like new without any scuffs etc.
My Clammy should be back with me by Thursday this week the latest i hope.

You may recognise my main setup picture from another forum that i post at.
I got my Clammy back today and i was so happy. The lid looks like new now. My puck mouse also came today as well. I am awaiting upon the Lime Green Apple keyboard right now.
I haven't actually got a desk for my Clammy but i do often keep it by my beside when it is in use or when it is not in use i most often store it in one of my desk drawers. If my niece and nephews come round though I will make a space for it on my desk and move my printer a bit or put my printer away.
I was thinking about buying one of those iCurves for the iBook. The second from last picture was taken about a month ago. All of these pictures where taken with a camera phone so they are not the best quality pictures ever.

This is how my setup looks normally

Thanks, i tried to down size the pictures by 50% in fact but i guess i will down size a little bit more in the future.
Your clamshell is also very nice and your pictures are really impressive.
As i mentioned in your other thread I was thinking about selling my clamshell but i don't think that i will be able to part with it so i decided to sell my Nokia N91 phone instead and downgrade, haha. I would rather give up my phone than my Clamshell any day of the week.

mrBurns yes post your clamshell i would like to see your pictures

Please forgive the picture quality i sold my good camera a while ago and i am using one now that is only one megapixel. I think that i may get a new one soon.
Lime green phone, clamshell and a green iPod lol.

I have given up on the idea of selling my clamshell i have decided to keep it now.

Sellers on Ebay say that these clamshells are collectable and i was thinking about that and i doubt if they really are.
You see so many clamshells going on Ebay that i doubt that they are collectable but they are fun to use none the less and they look good.

My MBP was out of action for two weeks and in the whole time i used my Clammy. I used Photoshop and Corel on it and it handled it fine.

Goddamnit they're gorgeous. I so wish they would bring back that design in some way, maybe lose a little of the weight, and make the power pack less dangerous, but everything else is just so pretty!

I watched the intro of the first iBooks from MacWorld on YouTube the other day, and seeing Steve demoing them just made it even clearer - they're so cool! And they look really good in photos .

It really looks like a toilet seat though.

Even that aside there is waaaay too much plastic around the screen and everywhere else and transparencies when there is nothing exciting to see beneath.

I wish Apple would have a little more fun with the consumer notebooks like the Macbook, which used to be the iBook, which used to be a fun / college student wants to look good while doing work computer. The professionals can buy a Macbook Pro and look all silver and straight lined, but leave the regular Macbook for us creative peeps. I think Apple has lost sight of the ibook over time.

Clamshells FTW!

Really, that's heavy for you? Eat lots of veggies, and wheaties. The rest of us can handle the 1LB more then a Macbook Pro quite easliy.

6.6 lbs isn't that much, especially when you carry around a 25 lb backpack all day.

I love my Blueberry. I bought it when I started college and still love it. It runs great for what it is but I don't get to use it very often. Right now it is used to stream my iTunes collection into another room in the house. As soon as I get another battery it will be used more when I am on the road since I don't need a powerhouse laptop for basic surfing and typing.

300MHz
576MB RAM
40GB 5400RPM HD

My Blueberry is my favorite Mac of all time.

Nice picture Mellon!

Anyways, I'm going to stick with my 366 MHZ clamshell and if I end up using it a lot I may upgrade to the 466 MHZ lime model. Once I instally my airport card and get my lime mac case, I'll take some pictures. I'll hopefully have a nice desk for my clammy by that time.
