Why would some guy named Frank Nicholas have an email address that was Dave Clinton?

...Because neither Frank nor Dave was Spammerguy's real name? A name mismatch between the header and signature on an email is basically "Red Flag Number One" that an email is bogus.

Bots sometimes have trouble with this (name syncing). They use lists of registered handles, and lists of emails. If the first email they try is already blocked, they often try a 2nd which doesn't match.

Other times they lose track of each other, and reply improperly to previous leading posts. ie - spamhandle asks a question. Then a while later, the same handle enthusiastically answers the question, recommending Snake Oil Cream. And states they are glad to help.

I guess the sweatshops aren't paying the coding kids enough.
