Oh, and in the case of your theme where you have square windows... you can just use the Square window border, and it'll grab 'em just fine...

A neat little side-effect of the new Window borders is that if you use the "Normal window" border for full screen captures, you get a nicely cropped, drop-shadowed image of the screen (the menu bar corners are clipped):

Hmm.. So you can change the colors of the speech bubbles... Thanks for confirming it moki.. bwahahaaa...

Anyways, does that ugly hack have anything to do with reading from the theme file?

Nope.

I wouldn't call it an "ugly hack" -- maybe a slightly homely hack. However, it will save some people countless hours -- sure, they have to select the right window border for the window they want to isolate, but it perfectly crops and clips it against a white background.

For instance, this is my iTunes window -- it was sitting on the screen on top of a few hundred windows (as is my usual desktop under Mac OS X) -- select the "Rounded window" Border, click on Objects, and bam -- it isolates and captures it, with the drop shadow in all of its glory:
