Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

One of my friends inherited an 87 Camry from his younger sister. After driving for a month he got it an oil change. Apparently it had been running on zero oil (none came out when the released the bolt) yet running so damn smooth I had remarked on several occasions that I couldn't tell if it was on or not.

But I'll be damned if that thing didn't run like the day it was bought, even after 200K+ miles.

'04 Chevy cavalier. 53k miles. 31-34 mpg. Got it CHEAP!

Old pic. I removed the stickers last summer. I blends in. There are perks to having a car that doesn't stand out.

EDIT: You can also almost see our '03 Chevy Venture minivan beside it. 30k miles.

As of wednesday, my dream car. A 1993 MB 500E with 12,000 miles on the clock. One of only 498 imported into the US.

Actually, I'm afraid to drive it for long periods of time. I saw a TV commercial that said you're supposed to see a physician anytime you have an erection lasting for four hours or more.

So it's parked in the garage. There will always be at least one good 500E left on Earth.

I'll just drive my '98 S-10 pickup - and avoid embarrassing appointments with my doctor.

Got a good deal on it, and I like the fact that it has a huge interior for a micro-car (especially since parking is such a bitch where I live).

If I change my way of living, and if I pave my streets with good times, will the mountain keep on giving…
