I turn 21 next Friday (25th) and I'm going to Vegas with 5 of my buddies that following Sunday for 4 nights and 5 days.. I bought tickets for the Cirque de Soleil Beatles Love but that is really the only planned event that I have. I plan on taking about $1000 bucks and I just want to know what else I should do (besides gamble) while I'm out there. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

well, you are going at the time of year where the average temperature will be above 100 degrees F. so, doing anything outside is out of the question. golf; canyon tours, etc.

i guess stay inside, get drunk and gamble.

Hit a sports book and make some wagers on baseball games. Play some blackjack. Go to a strip club. Have a nice dinner at an upscale restaurant. Enjoy Love.

A least for a few hours sit at a casino bar and play video poker. Look for the machine that has the best odds. Get to know the bartender and small talk with him. Rake in the free drinks. Don't forget to tip.

Hit the Stratosphere after dusk and take some photos of the strip.

See the Amazing Jonathan

Penn and Teller.

Go to the Rio Buffet.

Chill at the pool in the afternoons.

Star Trek thing at the Las Vegas Hilton.

Drive out to the Hoover Dam and take the Dam Tour. Take some Dam photo. Buy some Dam souvenirs.

Hit the desert.

Go to Red Rock Canyon and visit the Park Nature Center.

Design: I was told you ALWAYS hit on 17..

ResidentEvil: I really don't think the heat is going to phase me.. I live in south Georgia and it reaches about 95-100+ almost every day and that is with humidity.

Rumor: After going to Sapphires website I am DEFINITELY going... I also looked at the Penthouse Club which seems like its up my alley too...

Randman: Any restaurant recommendations? I plan on eating really nice at least twice. One of the guys going with me wants to eat a Bobby Flay's Mesa grill... Where else?

Railroader: Is the Hoover Dam really worth it? Stratosphere is definitely on my list and so is the Rio buffet...

osiris: I looked that up and it looks quite interesting...

Try the ride at the top of the Stratosphere.

Cheetahs and the Spearmint Rhino aren't too bad either.

Oh, the bars at the Palms are pretty cool, as well as Seven and Dreis.

Its Vegas, in addition to the concentration of loose women who reside there you have droves of girls from every corner of the country and world who flock there with no other focus but to drink excessively and have meaningless sex.

So what justification are you people using for a 21 year old to spend hundreds of dollars at the strip clubs on women who aren't going to put out unless you make 6 figures and lavish them with gifts?

Has no one else ever tried to pick up there? Its easier than spring break.

Hit the ghost bar at the palms, good times. Scores is a great strip club $10 lap dances, hit the roller coaster at the NY/NY, and drink as much as humanly possible.

I have an engineering background and also amazed at large scale man-made structures like the Hoover Dam. So it is cool to me. I also like wilderness and the out doors.

If you are not, then it probably won't be so cool to you. To each his own.

Eh, you will no doubt have fun. I lived there for 10 years and went through 2 marriages. Mt Charlston is also a nice getaway.

Just make sure if you fall in love real fast and get married it's really a female

Yes.

See Mystère or KÀ (I haven't seen "O").

Zumanity isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but I think you'll have your T&A quotient better filled at another venue, unless you have a fetish for ballet dancer type bodies (slim with thighs that could crush your head like a grape).

So what's so spectacular about the Rio buffet? Is it topless or something?

lol. Better ones and cheaper. Besides, any place to avoid the tourist masses. And as far as buffets, best in the world is at Burj-Al-Arab in Dubai, but that's another story.

Yes, my wife and I went there a couple of years ago (like 2.5). Wanted to check it out but you need some kind of a reservation to even get on the island. So we opted for the buffet. There are (or were) several different buffets, all with escalating prices. Mind you none are cheap but I can honestly say it was some of the best food I've ever had. Not as revolutionary as El Bulli, or Au Pied de Cochon or The French Laundry but amazing food, mind-boggling variety and impeccable service. Plus, you get to go to the bar on the top and check out the other areas.

It was pricey but well worth it.

So, are you telling him to avoid the Rio buffet, or that it is "worth it"?

I am confused.

I don't know about the Rio buffet these days but when I lived there, it had a bad rep. Guess the seafood wasn't always fresh. Besides. I'd opt for Thomas Keller's joint at the Venetian then work my way down.

Las Vegas Review-Journal has a best of guide. Use that. lvrj.com

Definitely hit up the strip club. Tell the strippers it's your birthday and they'll be on your jock for the time being.
