I'd actually enjoy that. "Why not get an Evo! What's wrong with the Exige S? You could have bought both for that much money!"
You should have bought 100 POS '80s Accords, then you can take pictures of them at odd angles and post them on the internet.

Yep, a V6 Prelude gets a whopping 22MPG, that's just huge compared to the 17 of the Gallardo... oh wait.

I've posted pics of things before, just not very often. I'm not a huge shutterbug.

Gotta love those urban legends. I went ahead and just skipped collision altogether, I'd rather just pay out of pocket for my mistakes.
FWIW, it's not that I can't afford the insurance, it's the principle of the thing. I could buy a Koenigsegg or Pagani and get it insured through Lloyd's, or whoever would actually do it, but the thought of that just makes me itch.

Does comprehensive still cover you for a hit and run or if a tree falls on the car? It would suck to have to pay out of pocket for someone else's mistake. I guess I would rather spend the extra few bucks on peace of mind.

He owns it because pissing on the street corners to mark his territory would make him indiscernible from thousands of drunken partygoers.
Me, I'm not jealous. An Aston would make me jealous, or a '73 Alfa GT 1300 Junior.

V6 Prelude? That must be a engine swap because no Prelude ever came with a V6. Always been a inline 4 from First Gen to 5th Gen. My Lude is 24 years old looks like crap needs a lot of work but is still my preferred car, good on gas and dam fun to drive. Focus isn't bad but its just not the same.
Now this is a sports car
AT 88 Miles per hour you get a lot of pretty lights and flashes going its so fast.....

Well, can't say I know much about Hondas, I thought stuff like this was normal.
There is a Deloran around here. The guy who owns it takes it out for local car meets. Looks neat, but runs like crap and weighs about as much as a Suburban.

Both of mine side by side
The Jeep and Sonoma are parked under the building since they don't get used much these days with the high gas prices. Besides I prefer taking the Lude off road.

Nothing wrong with mid-engines unless you're the poor bastard who has to rebuild them.

If it's a 911, sure, but there are non-Porsche examples. Like, say, the Weismanns mentioned upthread.

I'm sure I'm coming off as a curmudgeon, but I haven't liked a Mercedes in 15 years.
Used to love them though when the designs were cleaner.

I haven't really either, and I don't think the SLS looks a lot like a Mercedes should, but I do think it's a fantastic looking car.

I think I've mentioned it before, but to me owning a Merc says, "I wanted an expensive car but really didn't know what to buy". Now, some Mercs are very nice, but there's just something very "vanilla" about them.

I always thought that about the base C-class, just like I think about the base 3 series. Somebody just bought them because it's the quickest and easiest way into an expensive name.

I went to USAAs site so see what they'd quote me and they don't even have lamborgini in the list of makes. If you have a delorean they'll hook you up though.

Back in the day though, the 190 was awesome.
It does need the right color paint or it looks funky.

Yeah, that was back during the over-engineering and no-costs-barred days. The 190E drove and felt like a small 300E, now it just feels cheap. (Though the 2012 model looks like it may offer some improvement).

That would be the B200. Although if you want luxury features in a hatch, there aren't many options.

With rare cars quotes from company to company can very hugely. This is because most will only have one or two examples of this car on their books. With a standard car the large numbers average out ear companies experience with the car. Co no 1 may have had all it's Lambo's crash so will weight them very heavily while Co no 2 may have never paid out on one. While it wont ever be cheap they will weight in favour of their own experience with each car.
When I had a Citroen XM estate the cost varied wildly from co to co, while on my Mondeo they were all ball park.

Can you spell depreciation. They do seem to actually be going UP in value again now though.

This thread is worthless without more pics of the V12 E-Type.
Shots should be taken with hood open and closed, preferably.
Also, I wish I'd known about such things back when I was more regularly driving through Knoxville between Raleigh and Nashville.
Congratulations. Make sure you enjoy it.

It's the good attention/bad attention thing. Kids act up because they crave attention. Same with adults. Some use luxury cars to do it. They don't consciously believe it, but it's often because they feel they can't get attention based on their personal qualities. Sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong.
I hate the notion that every middle aged person that buys a luxury car is having a mid-life crisis. That's typically just BS. The real reason is that they've always wanted a luxury car, but just couldn't afford one until later in life.
I'm barely affording $400 per month for my car because I'm saving for my kids education, and saving for retirement. When my kids are grown, and my retirement fund is fully stocked, I'll be able to afford much more per month for a luxury car, should I choose to buy one.

$0 per month.
Unless you count the servicing, then it's around $3,000 a year.

Yes, and that's a relatively cheap car ($18K) - it was $350/month for 5 years, but I increased the payment to pay it off sooner and save interest.
I'm curious, how much to you think a car costs that $400/month seems high to you?
