Hi there
I have an iPhone 5s with iOS 8.01 on it
Whenever I start an iMessenger conversation it starts it with my email address versus my phone number.
When I go through my settings to IMessengwe my phone number isn't listed and it's just a bunch of email addresses. Could anyone tell me how to fix this problem ?
Thank you !

Go to iMessage settings and sign out of Apple ID from within iMessage.

When i sign back in It shows my # except you cant select it (grayed out)
If I sign out will the convos that went to my email automatically be moved to my number?

Turns out my service provider does not support iMessage activation
I needed to use these steps to get it activated

No, they won't be moved automatically.
