Okay so I just installed VMWare Fusion in my Macbook. I don't want the virtual hard disk to take that 20 GB (or whatever I put) in my internal hard disk. I am also buying another external harddrive (160GB) and would like to use it for VMWare Fusion instead of taking space on my internal.
So my question is, do I have to click on " Use an existing virtual disk" then locate my external hard drive? And it will install on the external hard drive?

I assume you haven't created a virtual disk yet.
When you do, just create it on the external drive (the save location is a couple steps into the wizard).

The screenshot I posted... isn't it the save location into the wizard?
And no, I have not created the virtual disk yet. I have to get the Windows XP disc from a friend.

You'd need to go back a step to Name. You'll have Name and also the choice of location: where to put the virtual disk.

If all else fails, create it on internal drive then move it to the external. When you launch VMWare again, you'll have to choose the image but after that, you should be fine.

I'll report back within a few days or so. I still have to order the external hard drive and get Windows XP from a friend.
Thanks for the help.
