I would like to be able to search the php files on my hard disk using Spotlight, but Spotlight doesn't index files with a php extension by default. For example, if I make a file on the desktop called 'example.txt' with the following contents:
$odd_variable_name = "test";
I can find 'example.txt' by typing 'odd_variable_name' in the Spotlight search window. If I rename the file to 'example.php', the result no longer appears in the Spotlight results.

This would be useful for finding examples of previous function usage etc.

Does anybody know how to tell Spotlight to index php, asp or other plain text files with extensions other than .txt?
