I try and long onto my XP laptop and I get this screen on my mac. Clicking OK or cancel just sends me back to the MacOS X desktop.

This is not a problem with your mac. A program on your XP laptop is trying to access protected memory, so that program is being killed (which looks like the windows logon process). I would suggest rebooting your XP machine. If that doesnt fix it, try this int he coimmand line of the windows machine:

sfc /SCANNOW
Make sure you have your windows disk available. This will scan all the windows protected system files, and replace the invalid with valid Microsoft ones. For some reason, it looks like something was damaged on your XP install. If this doesn't fix it, you may need to reinstall.
