What to do on a first date or where to go... movies are out, coffee shops are great, but a fun activity like tennis is even better (after getting some time to talk..) and mb an ice cream cone after.

What did OR would you do?

Show up with a slingshot, bag of fireworks, and liter of Jack Daniel's. Ask her what the stupidest thing she's ever been arrested for is. The rest is magic.

Beach. Action capital.

Bonus: you get to check out what's under the hood.

Bonus: frisky behaviour is normal.

Bonus: if it doesn't go well, you can still go surfing.

Bonus: or better yet, pick up somebody else right then and there.

I love the beach.

Too bad it's winter.

hiking (notice the state i live in)

uh, good luck, and just go with it... if you have to ask this forum too many times, that is a bad sign.

Have fun, be yourself (if she does not like you for who you are, then what is the point!

well good!

my only suggestion is to just be yourself... if that works then good, if not then move on.

Why don't you do some of the wonderful things they do on "Blind Date?" You could make sand art, or try on funny costumes, or do some half-assed tai bo. If you videotape it, I would be happy to add the commentary cartoons at the bottom.

I like miniature golf (depending upon the girl)... it's fun and relaxing and gives you time to talk which is important...

I'll also second the Showing up with a slingshot, bag of fireworks, and liter of Jack Daniel's if she is in to that kind of thing. "Hold on... I need to call my parole officer."

This allows them... and others relive the evening over and over.

Do you have any idea of the sorts of things she likes to do? Suggest a date based around that. This works particularly well if this involves something you've never done before, as long as you make that clear beforehand.

Seriously; give this a try. It shows interest in her as a person, and besides; stuff like this tends to be fun.

Ok.. honestly, I met her at my church, she just starting coming here from a town about 30 min away because their church closed down. I am just gonna call her up to see if she wants to hang out after church. Get some food down the street, talks and find her interests, and go from there from what I learn. If I can't think of anything else, the theatre is a block away.

But my first option is tennis, but not every girl plays tennis...

I just started this topic to find what other people do that is different/creative.

Thanks

Yes, do something fun! Don't go out for a fancy dinner or anything - maybe mini golf (is that seriously the only thing I can think of?) with a casual lunch... or maybe just Slurpees or something (ahem, let's keep clean fellows).

I suggest two things so you don't seem one dimensional. But that's a suggestion from a guy who hasn't had a real date in over a year and a half, so your mileage may vary

the zoo.

best possible first date. Chances are, she hasn't been in a while and will think it's a great idea. Great for conversation, and if you can't think of anything to talk about, you've got material right in front of you. And what girl doesn't like animals? It's great for any age and if you're old enough you can go for some drinks afterward.

you can thank me later

yup! This was one of my next options... for a second date. I just wanted to make the first real casual, but hell, if things go well we could be spontaneous and do it right away ;-)

Near me were a young couple on a date, and it was quite funny to listen to their comments, as he was quite impressed and she was quite embarrassed. I'm sure it led to an interesting conversation.

Yeah on a serious note, the zoo is solid. It's nice to have a 'mission' together... helps a lot with the silences for sure.

I would also advise having that 'do it like they do on the discovery channel' song accidently start playing on the drive home

It really depends on you 2. If you really hit if off and have great conversation, go for a walk or to the Zoo. Somewhere that you can move a little and converse as much as you want about anything. Then if you need to sit, hit a small cafe or coffee shop. If she doesn't like coffee, then do you really want to be with her anyway? (j/k). IMHO you want the date to be about the 2 of you and not the movie you saw. That approach has worked well for me.

BRILLIANT!

oh, and ill pull for the zoo, but on one condition- stay at the monkey cage until you see some action. then test her reaction to see if she shies away. and if she does, run.

or do what i do- start drinking, talk her ear off and inch slowly closer to her as the night moves on. start at the thigh, then work from there. good way to tell if you have a chance or not.

I'd have said Zoo, but as the nearest one is an hour's drive...

Quiet bar with a pool table gets my vote. Unless you're near a beach, in which case Cipher's suggestion goes.

Sounds like you are back in the boonies... so just drive her up to Concerts on the Square.
Plus out there you can get into the bars.

seduce her with all your might... seriously, find out what she likes and what she doesn't before hand, maybe from her friends if you happened to know any.
