Sitting here watching the latest X-Files....

Scully is having a video conference with 2 people. She is using a 15 inch LDC studio display with OSX (the dock on the left) using some made up Video conference software that looks like iTunes. The clincher is on the bottom left of this Bushed aluminum interface it clearly says "Intel".

Now unless Intel came out with some wicked video conference software that I don't know about then the creators have a hard time admitting that anyone on the planet uses something other then Microsoft and Intel.

gee wiz.

LoL, I was totally going to post this same thread a few minutes ago, but I decided against it. I should've known someone would. Man, us Mac people are so predictable.

Well I think it is on again tonight. Someone try to get a screengrab if you can. The Intel part is real quick on the bottom left.

I thought that the computer in Scully's lab was a funky-looking Mac, and the computer the other two were at was a PC.

Are you guys sure you saw the "intel" logo on Scully's computer? I thought it was on the other one.

good catch. I had to watch twice to be sure. the only Intel occurance is with Scully's face on the other computer, and it looks like a different interface than what's on her mac. Cleaner should have the whole scene done in about 20 minutes and if it's small enough I'll put it on an iDisk

Apple doesn't read these message boards. If you have a complaint or suggestion for OS X send feedback where it will do some good.

Good job. Looks like the Intel Logo is only on the PC. Thank god.

Our retarded friends in the OSX forum are thinking that this is a secret upcoming iSoftware from Apple.

Perhaps you should clarify that a little: Some of the people in the OS X forum think it's some new iApp. I tend to hang out in the OS X Gen. forum, and I never for a moment thought it was a new iApp.

Calling a whole group of people retarded based on the comments of one or two people isn't exactly fair.

I WANT TO BELIEVE

she is clearly using some sort of OSX app, (the dock is "docked" on the left side, aqua buttons, etc.)and they are videoconferencing

Now, I know Hollywood often fakes apps like this, but if you look at this closely, it is pretty detailed... including tabs to resize the window, etc. Plus, whoever faked it had a really good handle on the Aqua thing.

In any case, there are also the standard Quicktime buttons (fwd, back, play, pause) which made me think that maybe, especially given the videoconferencing rumors that have been floating around, that this is might be Quicktime 6, interfacing with some other intel app.

Also, Apple has always had a visible presence in the X Files show; if you were to believe Chris Carter, you would believe that the FBI ONLY uses Macs (I want to believe)!

Knowing very little about videoconferencing solutions for PCs, there is no way to know what Intel app it was. Hopefully some other readers can help.

This would be so cool if Apple offered that in the next Quicktime app...

You people make me sick.

Look at that picture again.. what's the LCD hooked up to?!?!?!

I'll give you a hint: It's square, and is 8"x8"x10"

EDIT: Chalk one up on my attention span, I just realized someone caught it WAY before I did

Oh well, think about it!

My imagination or is that dock a little too low?

Are you guys kidding? What makes you think this is even a fake app made in project builder. It is not animated or interactive.

It is probably just a screengrab with iTunes and iPhoto mangled in Photoshop. Then they place the video on top it.

Duh.

the only way you can really tell is analyze how the LCD looks, too bright, too solid, etc.

Uh, kids? In addition to all the other obvious cues that this is faked up - looks like it was fun to do, but is in no way convincing - the progress bar says "Link Estabished".

"Estabished"??

Not even Microsoft releases apps that poorly edited.
Revisit reality sometime, huh?
