What does it mean if your .mac account is "inactive"

In mail.app, it says in preferences, that my .mac is inactive. And now it's not in my list of mailboxes. However, webmail works, entourage works etc.. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Should I delete the account in preferences and reload it? Why would it say the account is "inactive"?

Mail/Preferences/Accounts/Edit/Advanced/Enable this account
