Can anyone recommend a few brands and models
of inexpensive DVD players that have a great track
record at playing G5 burned DVDs?

I've been to some of the Internet lists on
compatibility and they are pretty confusing and
many are out-of-date.

Just looking for some practical, "yeah, i burn DVDs
& they always play on my Sony/Toshiba/Panasonic
ABC-XXX"

Outpost had some cheap ones for $10. I gave them away at Xmas with photo DVDs.

the best info i can give you are on what i've personally experienced. i've burned dvds out of dvd studio pro 3.0.2 and OS 10.3.7 with mixed results on toshiba and sony players. the toshiba is dodgy and will sometimes skip or freeze on playback or fastforwarding. the sony plays back normally. i had read on creativecow.net that toshiba players can be finicky and i can say it's true from my experience.
