I like Apple's mail program, and especially its integration with the OS and other programs.

Is there a way to give it a better appearance (in Tiger; it's version 2.0.5) ?

The non traditional look and buttons suck...

Tiger's Mail appearance is very nice. Learn to appreciate it.

Sure. There are at least three utilities that will take the awful lozenge-buttons away.

timgaden.

Just be careful when you update OS X. You may have to disable this type of hack for a brief while.

I am hoping that in Leopard, Mail drops the crazy buttons. I like the overall look and layout but the buttons stink.

kcmac -- Really? What do you think might go wrong?

I've not had any trouble in the updates for 10.4.1 - 10.4.3.

AFAIK, Mail Stamps merely replaces some graphic files in Mail's Resources folder (keeping a back-up of the default graphics, of course, in case you decide you want to go back to the lozenges).
