Hi. I did a search for this and didn't find the info I was looking for. I have a G4 733 that I'm running 10.1.1 on. The HD spins down now and then even though I have it set to never sleep. I've changed the enemry setting over and over, rebooted and did everything that I can think of. Any thoughts?

I have been having the same problem. Occaisionally I get "the device you just removed was not put away properly" followed by a spinning rainbow disk that does not stop and the system crashes. Mostly, however, it just spins down and spins back up, and keeps working. The more I work with X, the more things like this , things I just can't figure out, I run into. It wasn't this way with OS 9.

Yeah, if I boot into 9 the problem doesn't seem to happen. Oh well...

Try deleting the com.apple.powermanagement.plist file in Library/Preferences
I was having problems with the disk NOT spinning down until I deleted that file and went back into the settings.
