No in the way you want it.

Yes for other ways:

Do you run linux on the pc?
Then you have to connect both machines with a network and give them static ip adresses. Set the environment variable DISPLAY on the pc to the "ip of the powerbook":0.0

You can then ssh from the powerbook to the pc. As long as you use a terminal, this works well.

Every time you log in on the pc, the Powerbook monitor will display the pc desktop.

With a Windows system on the pc - I don't know. Maybe there is a way. But surely only "pay cash first, see if it works afterwards".

Yes, you can.

ssh is secure shell.

Connect your machines as described.

open a X11 terminal on your Powerbook
type tcsh [return] (if this is not default)

type xhost + [return]
type ssh usernameOnPC@nameOfpc [return]

Then you are asked for your pc password.
Type it and you are logged in at your pc.

type setenv DISPLAY ipNumberOfYourPowerbook:0.0 [return]

All things you do now in the terminal. for example

mozilla &

will be shown on your Powerbook screen (if you have set the DISPLAY variable).

This works with all *nix and *nux operationg systems on your pc and OS X on your powerbook.

Please search the web. There you will find huge amounts of information how to solve problems. This is a very common thing in unix environments. I do this every day.

And see your man pages (for example type man ssh in your X11 terminal).

Good luck,

Michael
