iPod 3rd Generation, 15 GB hard drive

When you give it some juice, all it shows is the Apple logo; can't get past it. Tried everything on the Apple forums, even went to the Genius bar at the Store. Won't show up on the desktop and can't be seen in iTunes. Hard drive hums, so not sure what's happenin'.

too busy to experiment, so if someone wants it, its yours for $65 plus s&h. I'll throw in the firewire charger cable for free.

does anyone know if a 30gb single platter drive will work in here? i really like the thin form factor, but 15gb is a little too little.

It probably will if you just restore it with the older software. You are talking about a drive from a 30gb photo right?

I've swapped drives in and out of my 3G without any trouble. The 30GB drive from the iPod photo or the 5G should work fine.
