Swept up by the 'devils-broom' excitement...

"Julian Danner, a 10-year old, takes this "devils-broom" device for a spin yesterday in Nuremberg, Germany. The motor-assisted rig for inline skaters and skateboarders was introduced prior to the international fair for practical inventions, called "IENA 2006". The fair runs from Nov. 2-5."

Wonder how fast the sucker goes?

The Soccer moms and politically correct safety Nazis would out law that thing in a second here.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

Wouldn't you need some kind of downward weight on the thing to give it any real traction?

Well, the typical weed eater motor is only 30-40cc, so you're not talking about a huge amount of horsepower. I'd be more worried about whether or not the motor could turn two wheels of that size.

a 50cc engine is pretty peppy actually... a lot of scooters have 50cc engines... and with that displacement a lot of motorcycle/license laws are not in effect... where I live there a quite a few scooters without licenses/tags and it's legal...

however... if I were to design that I would have it pull me, and incorporate a brake, so if the throttle sticks or I need to make a sharp turn, ditch it... I just let go...
