lol? it's got rust on it and BRADFORD, PA, ZIPPO III II on the bottom.
the insert was obviously hand crafted, too, so it's obviously real.

Whatever you want to believe ambush. But they're as common as fake Rolexes.
Want a Rolex?
edit: Find out from Zippo.

The OP says he got it straight from Saigon and that it works perfectly.
And it looks like genuwine aging. Look at the pitts and rust and internal extrusions. The engraving is worn and of uneven depth from wear. I'll bet it's real.

You sure?
After the fall of Saigon, the North Viet Nam system changed the old Chinese name of many cities. Nowadays, Pleiku is turned to Plaiku, Quinhon to Quy Nhon, Dak To to Dac To Ban Me Thuot to Buon Ma Thuot and so. A lighter with a new city name is a forgery.
Anyway, I hope it is real. Nice lighter.

I don't get it.. my lighter has the "old" name on it, not the new one.
WTH, you have issues... In light of your lack of intelligence, you should commit suicide now.
Anyway, I checked the article and all the info I could find and mine *looks* legit.
If it's not, it's a damn good fake and I'm still happy to use it. What else can I say? It rocks.

My understanding would be:
"Nowadays [...] Quinhon [is turned] to Quy Nhon"
Old name: Quinhon
New name: Quy Nhon
Your Zippo has Quy Nhon on it.
Am I getting it wrong ?

Today, both QUI NHON and QUY NHON is being used.
The question is: is there a blank " " between QUI and NHON or not. I see a space.
If that's not a space, then it's really farked up kerning.

The real question is: Why the hell would anyone pay money for one of these…real or fake? It's a farking lighter. Whoopee.
|
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.
