I am getting a Bluetooth headset to use with my SE K700i and was wondering if I could use it as an audio input device with my iMac (external Bluetooth adapter) or iBook (internal Bluetooth)? Anyone have any experience with this? TIA

Yes you can. I bought one from a friend and now use it when I do audio or video chats. Helps cut down on environmental noise.
Depending on your model it may be a kinda tricky to set up, but just make sure you read all the directions that come with the BT headset and that you also have all the updates for your computer.
Once it is set up you can select it as audio imput in the System PRefs or within individual programs (such as iChat).

I want to do this with my G4, but don't iMacs and iBooks have built in microphones??

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Yes, but they can echo or sound like a bad speakerphone sometimes, as they pick up a lot of noise from the environment (people in the background, computer fan noise, vibration, feedback from the other party, etc).
A good headset will make audio iChats much more like a good phone call.
